About

IMG_6878Wouldn’t it be great if I had something quippy and interesting to say here? Instead, I’ll just let you know that I blog because it’s fun to share the daily shenanigans of my life. I have been married to Ryan for 10 years, we have 2 daughters (ages 6 and 4) and very 2-year-old son. Needless to say, there’s no shortage of shenanigans in my life and I’m happy to make you smile with our stories and pictures.

There are crafty and creative bloggers, interesting traveling bloggers, blogs about food and cooking, exercise blogs, blogs devoted to the art of cutting coupons and a lot of really funny writer bloggers… this is not one of those blogs.

I’m not crafty. I’m a terrible cook. I tried to be good at coupons once. I’m no expert at “wifely” or “mommish” type things, but God gave me a husband who I try really hard to feed and children who I try really hard to keep alive on a daily basis… that’s about all I can do. Finding joy amidst the daily shenanigans is my art form.

I’m blessed. I’m thankful. I’m Amber.

  3. I LOVE your blog. I’m pregnant with my first but I have two stepdaughters. I love your love for life, your family, and most importantly God! Thank you for doing this. Oh yes I attend GCC!!

    • Hi Alicia! Congratulations on having a baby soon! That’s so exciting! Glad you’re entertained and encouraged by my blog – that makes me really happy. Thanks for reading!

  4. Hey Amber, You don’t know me but I used to go to GCC and now am a part of Engedi Church in Holland, MI. I graduated from Hope and used to hear your dad talk about you going there. I am involved with a local agency called CultureWorks and your brother in law Chris is currently showing his photography pieces there. It was funny because I remembered viewing your blog at one point and following a link to Chris’s website because I loved his photography. Anyway, I ended up having the opportunity to meet your dad at the showing tonight and we were talking about all the funny connections. I admitted that I knew a bit about Chris because I looked on your blog in the past even though I didn’t know you. He thought that was great and told me to be sure to leave you a note and let you know that I met him when he came up to Holland to see Chris’s work. So funny how small this world can be and all the funny connections that came from your blog:) What an amazing family you seem to have. Take Care, -Breah Groen

    • Hi Breah!! My dad told me he met you and I loved hearing him talk about the cool stuff you guys are doing at Engedi! Maybe we can meet in real life someday! Thanks for your note!

You try so hard and don’t give up and keep a cheerful attitude when it come to cooking. Youre a very good reader. You have a ton of knowledge of the bible.
